The Common Ground Community Garden has a new manager this year. In fact, it has several. The Delavan Girl Scouts have agreed to care for the garden this year. This effort is led by Troop leader Tammy Adair. The girls will plant, weed, grow, and harvest on half the garden. The other half will remain open to individuals that are interested in using space for personal planting.
The Girl Scouts hope to work on obtaining a badge by planting corn, beans, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, pumpkins, and maybe even potatoes and broccoli. They are even looking into the possibility of selling their crops at the Saturday Farmer’s Market.
If you are interested is supporting the girls, or interested in gardening a plot of land yourself, you can email us at email@example.com
We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership and are looking forward to seeing a whole new generation of young people learn the dying art of gardening.
